29 August Settling InIt's been just over a month since we moved to our new home! It's hard to believe how time flies. We continue to give God all the praise for finally releasing Jeff from his former job and allowing us to move closer to family. We've been very busy unpacking and getting to know the area, though it's been WAY too hot do much of anything outside. We are basically moved in now with our final project being putting pictures on the walls. Jeff has been teaching at his new school for nearly 3 weeks now and is really enjoying it. It is so wonderful to see him satisfied in his work and not dreading each time he has to go. The girls and I have gotten into a routine now, though it is unfortunately running about an hour earlier than Mommy would like. No matter how we try, Ella and Lucy don't seem to want to make the switch to Central time. We have attended several churches in the area and are basically trying to decide now between two. They are both possibilities for entirely different reasons. We would appreciate prayer for this huge decision. Ella started attending AWANA at one of the churches and is so excited about her vest, workbook, and verses. She has already memorized four verses! It's exciting for Jeff and me to see her anxious to "say my verses" like Mommy and Daddy do each day. We are looking forward to see how God is going to begin working in her life as she grows older. Three years old is a milestone year in understanding and learning about God. Lucy will be 10 months on Sunday and is a happy, adorable, smiling bundle of joy. She loves to imitate sounds, clap, and laugh at her big sister. She is doing great with table foods and her sippy cup and knows how to sign "more." Her gross motor skills are progressing, but she is still behind average. Some recent developments are that she will stay on all fours and rock back and forth if you put her up there, she will jump around in her Johnny-Jump-Up, she can turn around in circles while sitting or on her belly, and will stand momentarily with support if there's something up high she is interested in. We continue to work with her each day and doctors assure us she is fine and will master these skills at her own pace. It's hard for us to truly grasp that concept knowing that Ella was walking by now. They are truly two VERY different individuals! Well, I hope you enjoyed the first of what I hope to be somewhat regular updates on our family. Please leave comments or send and e-mail. We want to keep in touch! |
